Chris and I had a fairly intense lovemaking session this morning and now we're preparing to have breakfast before heading over to the redwoods. "You want the eggs florentine right? Spinach and all?"

"Exactly the way you made them that first morning," he smiles and kisses my cheek.

"As you wish," I wink.

"Does that make me Buttercup?" I giggle.

"I suppose it does," I wink.

"But, Wesley...what about the ROUSes?" I say in a fake British accent. 'Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist..." he says and pretends that Skunk...who looks unamused...is attacking him. "I love you," I laugh. As Zach gets the eggs ready I make toast and get the coffee ready.

"I think I knew that... felt that... I still thought I might... scare you away... or get spooked..." I say. "I loved you too... I think I loved you when I saw you drinking that boxed wine..." I laugh softly.

"Yeah, that was an electric moment...I could feel that my life was about to change..."

[ersatzach]

"Everything changed in that moment..." I smile.

[ersatzach]

"It has..." I rasp. "SO very good..." I say and kiss him.

[chris_w_pine]

HIs kiss is soft and warm. He gently wraps his fingers around the back of my neck. "Oh, Z..."

"Finish your eggs..."

[ersatzach]

We finish our breakfast. "Mmm.... so let's get ready for our trip to the redwoods."

"You're gonna need your good hiking boots 'cause this is gonna be serious," I grin.

"ALl right, I'm ready for some seriousness..." I wink. "Let's get geared up."

[ersatzach]

We pile into the car and I drive. "Ok, you gonna help me navigate, Captain?"

"Yes!" I get out my trusty map and he looks sort of amused and sort of horrified. "What? we are doing this old school."

"All right...." I smile. He tells me where to start and we head out.

[ersatzach]

"I love the beach but this is a nice change..."

[chris_w_pine]

I check my map and tell him what road to take. "So...we're about to drive through a tree..."

"Should I swerve??" I ask.

[ersatzach]

"Lead the way, Captain," I smile.

[chris_w_pine]

I shoulder one pack and Zach takes the other. I have Skunk and Zac has Noah. We head into the woods hand in hand. I brought a few field guides because I'm a nerd," I tell him.

"I love that you're a nerd. Nerd out, Capitan."

[ersatzach]

"What about koalas?" I tease.

I give him a sidelong withering look and he cracks up. "Now you're making fun of your geeked out husband..."

"I don't want to eat a fern, thanks..."

[chris_w_pine]

"But kale smoothies..." I tease him.
