Chris and I took a shower after making love. I'm having a hard time... having him on top. I feel panicked... But Chris understands. I feel lucky beyond belief for that.

"So...blue button down shirt...dark Ralph Lauren jeans...tie?" he asks around his toothbrush.

"Yeah, that light blue one," I smile. I choose a black long sleeved shirt, a plaid shirt over it and black jeans. "What do you think?" I say.

Chris turns on the Pine charm. He's very good at it but I can see thhrough it, see the insecurities bubbling below the surface. I give his hand a tight squeeze as my mom calls us over. "That's my uncle and aunt..."

Zach's mother introduces me in a very different way than she did when we ran into her friends at the play. She slips her arm around me and calls me Zach's partner, tells her bother and his wife how very happy she is that Zach has found such a wonderful man. "It's good to meet you..."

My aunt and uincle immediatly start grilling Chris. About what he does, what he likes, his favorite pasta... everything. I rest my hand on Chris' back. "He's actually an amazing cook..."

It's a simple gesture but it means so much to me...the warmth of his hand, the strength of him. "Well, not amazing but I can cook..." His aunt tells me I should cook more because Zach is too thin.
